i've had this unfair problem for a long time with the "Lava survival" server but didnt feel like reporting it cus i really didnt care about it,but ill just report it now,so umm like the server owner of lava survival banned me for a reason that doesnt even make any sense like "Low quality specimen" LIKE WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN!???
Because this was built with simplicity and creativityin mind, luanti wants to be shaped as a engine for creation while this was built for simple and sometimes seemingly detailed creations
This is a port of Minecraft Classic to C pretty much, Luanti is just Minetest.
It's a more solid product than Minetest.
It's FOSS (afaik Luanti is as well)
It's codebase is more optimized than Minetest
You can play this virtually everywhere (PC, DS, N64, PS1, SiliconGraphics INDY)
Modding support can do more to the core game, including rewriting the very core of the game.
It's existed longer.
You can join *some* Minecraft servers (Minecraft Classic servers from Betacraft) with this.
It's simple.
The goals are to just make a optimized, portable version of Classic with enhancements, which it does, Luanti/Minetest are full fledged engines, with a very broad scope, too big for them to be seen as "Simple" for the people who want a simple experience.
Now that I have played more, great game, feels alot like Minecraft. I do wish there was mobs though. Galaxy server software or whatever it's called has a lot of commands that I also think would be cool.

Why use this over luanti? Luanti seems more readily updated with more modding support
